Prof.(Dr). Lawrence was born in Trichy(Tamil Nadu), completed his schooling in St. Mary’s European High School in Chennai, Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola College, Chennai and Masters Degrees in Physics from St. Joseph’s College, Trichy both affilitated to Madras University, and his Ph.D. in Physics from Meerut University. He started his career in teaching in Loyola College, Chennai, for two years. From 1971 to 2002, he has worked abroad as Lecturer, then Reader and finally as Professor in Physics in Universities in Fiji Islands, Papua New Guinea, Sydney(Australia), US and Canada.

On returning to Bangalore in 2001, Dr. Lawrence has worked as Head of Physics, as a faculty and Student Counselor in St. Joseph’s PU College. He has recently published a book for teenagers and adolescents, titled “RISE TO SUCCESS”, which helps students to succeed in life by overcoming failures. Currently he is sharing his experiences in helping students in India as well as abroad as an education consultant delivering lectures on “Holistic approach to personality development,” in various educational institutions and also conducting seminars for teachers on “how to excel in their vocation”.

Both Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence were involved in community service, through a registered trust called “DEVARA ASHIRVADA TRUST”, raising funds to assist underprivileged children of any caste, creed or religion, with education in good schools in Bangalore to complete S.S.LC., with the motto, “LIGHT IN THE LIFE OF UNDER PRIVELEGED CHILDREN.” Though the trust is closed, but their community service is continuing.

They have a son and a daughter, who graduated from Prestigious Universities in US and are now married and settled in US. Prof. Lawrence and his wife Mrs. Vimala Lawrence, are also involved in counseling people, giving guidance and advice to youth, adults and anyone going through problems in life. He also is involved in service to the community.
